FIVE Years as a professional TV Guy!

I completed 5 years in the Television industry or so to say, FIVE years of my professional life today (2-05-2011) From a TV journalist to News Anchor to a well recognized Voice Over of Kannada Television Industry, I have seen quite a few ups and downs in these five years. But, by God’s grace, I have seen more ups than downs in the last so many years.
Looking back at my journey, I feel good that I have done quite a few things that I had not imagined I would, when I had started my career as a reporter in TV9 on 2 May 2006. I was just out of college, had come back from the convocation at XIC, Mumbai, after doing my Tv and Video production PG Dip there.
TV9 was nothing more than a Telugu news channel then and had wanted to grab the attention of the Kannada audiences with their new Kannada News Channel. But there was nothing but a building and a little over a few dozen of crew at the building, which did not even have a studio ready those days. And my journey lasted there for more than two years. I was an anchor there, reporter then and the first ever correspondent from a TV channel to have gone abroad to cover a sports event, when I travelled to West Indies to cover the 2007 world cup. Tv9 had just gone on air those days. I had the chance to bring in the latest from the Cricketing world right from where the World Cup action was going on. India crumbled out in the first round itself. Bob Woolmer dies. I was back in India within two weeks. But I had already got a chance to do something which had never happened in the Kannada television industry.
Moving on, I hosted a show on Worldspace Sparsha on weekends called Masale Mandakki. Later in 2008 joined BIG FM as an associate producer for a short period. Then came my stint with Aajtak/Headlines today as a Bangalore correspondent, dealing mostly crime related News.
Come 2009, I joined Suvarna as promo chief and a voice over artist. A new page in my life. Something I had never thought was about to happen. I become the official Voice of Suvarna. This is apart from my voice still being telecast on TV9, which started on Day 1 of that channel!
Now, exactly after FIVE YEARS, I am foraying into the acting world. Starting 2 May 2011, the serial I am acting in, Krishna Rukmini has started telecast on Suvarna, Monday to Friday 7 PM.
